On October 24 and 25, the historic center of Coria will host the first edition of ‘Tentaciones de Cáceres, Sustainable Market’, an initiative promoted by the Provincial Council of Cáceres bringing together direct sales from local producers, food tastings, environmental workshops, and cultural activities to foster responsible consumption. As a prelude, a professional technical session will take place on October 23, focusing on innovation, digitalization, and generational renewal in the sector.

The event is part of the AGROSOCIAL Project, aimed at boosting social entrepreneurship and quality employment across the cross-border agri-food chain. The initiative is approved under the Interreg VI A Spain-Portugal program (POCTEP) and 75% co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

The Agrosocial Plus project is launched in Córdoba to promote social economy and rural innovation between Spain and Portugal

The Palacio de la Merced hosted the launch seminar for Agrosocial Plus, a project coordinated by the Provincial Council of Córdoba and co-financed with over 1.5 million euros by the European POCTEP program (Interreg Spain-Portugal). The initiative, with a total budget of 2.06 million euros, builds upon the previous work of 'Agrosocial' by expanding its cross-border lines of action.

The project focuses on four main axes: creating Living Labs to test technologies like AI and smart irrigation; a Cross-Border Executive School to train 160 companies; a social entrepreneurship program offering mentorship for at least 30 startups; and the joint promotion of local products across both countries. Furthermore, it continues its commitment to generational renewal in agriculture and closing the gender gap in cooperative governing boards.

The meeting brought together a broad consortium of partners from Spain and Portugal (including the provincial councils of Cáceres, Cádiz, and Lugo, CONFAGRI, INTEC, and various cooperatives) to define work operations, living labs, and the project's training and communication strategies.

Young Portuguese farmers and livestock breeders, as well as technicians from Confagri (Confederation of Portuguese Cooperatives), visit the Cooperativa Olivarera de Lucena and Covap to learn firsthand about the activities being developed in both cooperatives to promote and drive generational renewal. This initiative is part of the Agrosocial project.

The Agrosocial project promotes cooperative products at Auténtica Fest

On September 16, the Interreg Spain-Portugal Agrosocial project participated in the program of the Degusta workshop at Auténtica Fest with a showcase and showcooking aimed at highlighting the value of the territory's cooperative products in gastronomy.

During the event, tastings of extra virgin olive oils, cheeses, rice, vegetables, salt, pistachios, dairy products, and wines were offered. Among the recipes prepared, the following stood out:

• Extra virgin olive oil with different types of salt.
• Traditional creamy rice pudding with pistachio powder.
• Sweet potato cake with cheese, fig chutney, or carob cream with almonds and honey, paired with Vinho Verde.
